A national tour of an exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March into the Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture — located in Southwest China's Sichuan province — opened on Aug 27 at the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum (or the China Knives, Scissors, Swords, Fans and Umbrellas Museum).
Co-hosted by cultural and ethnic affairs departments from Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture and the Hangzhou museum — the exhibition highlights the theme of strengthening a shared national identity.
It's divided into three sections — Meet in Garze, Grain for the Army and Heritage Inheritance — featuring intangible cultural heritage works and creative products that embody revolutionary memories, traditional craftsmanship and the spirit of the Long March.
The event also marked the launch of the Hangzhou-Garze Master Craftsmen Co-Creation Center, which will foster joint works blending cultural elements from both regions.
At the opening, master craftsmen from Zhejiang and Garze demonstrated collaborative techniques, including painting and stone-rubbing.
The exhibition runs to Aug 31 and is in the museum's Building No 1.
