At the Zhejiang Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, yellowed letters from 1941 by Sun Xiaomei, an anti-Japanese martyr from Fuyang district of Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, still move visitors.

"The 'fame' and 'benefit' I seek are those needed by the people," she wrote before being captured and executed by Japanese forces in 1943 at 29.

Today, in her hometown, Longmen ancient town, copies of her letters are in envelopes for visitors to open and read in her old home, bringing history to life. Lines such as "I will fight for my ideals to the end" show her strong faith and selfless dedication.

To keep her memory alive, Fuyang has started an immersive Letters of Xiaomei educational route, connecting her memorial, ancestral hall, and family home. Since last year, it has welcomed more than 15,000 visitors, helping new generations connect with the revolutionary spirit in her words.
