Over 14 years of resistance, China suffered more than 35 million casualties at the hands of Japanese soldiers. During the same period, Chinese forces killed, wounded, or captured over 1.5 million Japanese troops, accounting for over 70 percent of Japan's total military losses during World War II.

The data poster below underscores the significance of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-1945) as both the earliest battlefield in the global fight against fascism and a decisive front in weakening Japanese militarism.

The war ultimately drew in over 80 countries and regions, involving 2 billion people worldwide, including 450 million Chinese.
