A news conference for the Women's Asia Cup Gongshu 2025 hockey tournament was held on Sept 4 at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium — in Gongshu district of Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.
The tournament is being held in Gongshu from Sept 5 to 14, with the winner of the continental title set to secure an early ticket to next year's Women's Hockey World Cup organized by the International Hockey Federation, or FIH.
The media session focused on updates to the tournament's preparations and featured a Q&A session with team representatives.
The organizer has pledged to ensure seamless operations — from logistics and venue management to media services — to guarantee a safe and efficient tournament experience.
Team representatives shared their excitement about the upcoming matches, promising thrilling and high-level competitions. The Chinese women's hockey team, which claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympics last year, is expected to deliver another strong performance.
The tournament is recognized for being Asia's highest-level hockey competition. Hosting the 2025 edition is said to reflect the confidence of the FIH and the Asian Hockey Federation in China's organizational capabilities.
Gongshu has previously hosted major domestic and international events, including the FIH Women's Hockey Pro League and the National Women's Hockey Championship Cup.
Tickets are now available on Damai, an entertainment ticketing platform, with prices starting as low as 8 yuan ($1.10).
