Hometown hero Wu stuns Medvedev to reach Hangzhou Open semifinals

China's Wu Yibing, the country's first ATP title winner, delighted home fans on Sept 21 at the 2025 Hangzhou Open in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, rallying past Daniil Medvedev of Russia to reach his second ATP Tour semifinal.
The Hangzhou native earned a hard-fought 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory in three hours and 11 minutes.
He now faces Alexander Bublik in the semifinals on the evening of Sept 22, after Bublik cruised past Dalibor Svrcina 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
