European art professionals eye more collaboration with Chinese peers
Seven performing arts professionals, including theater directors, art advisors, and art festival managers, from six European countries — France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Norway and Iceland — visited China from Oct 12 to 21.
The visit, organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, took these Europeans on an intensive tour of Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou in Jiangsu province and Jiaxing and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. In those places, they attended showcases of Chinese theater, music, dance and traditional operas and met with Chinese counterparts to explore cooperation opportunities.
In interviews with China Daily Website in Suzhou and Jiaxing, the tour participants expressed deep admiration for Chinese culture and art. They discussed both past and ongoing collaborations with Chinese performing arts groups and emphasized their intention to strengthen partnerships with their Chinese counterparts, aiming to foster greater Sino-European artistic exchange.
