A new travel retail concept store, TravelDepot, opened for trial operation on April 29 at Tonglu East Railway Station, marking its first global membership store.
Backed by League Holdings Group, one of the world's largest luggage manufacturers, the store brings together 88 international brands and 20 first-time entrants to China, offering a one-stop shopping experience for travel-related goods.
The store features five major sections, including luggage, outdoor equipment, beauty products, travel accessories, and consumer electronics. Products range from large suitcases to compact travel essentials, designed to meet every need in one place.
Among the highlights is American luggage brand Tesport, which opened its first global store in Tonglu after multiple rounds of negotiations. Other brands include Italy's Roncato, known for lightweight high-tech suitcases, and South Korea's OverLab, which upcycles materials like parachutes and sailcloth into bags.
According to the operator, the concept reflects a shift in consumer demand toward personalized, experience-driven and sustainable travel lifestyles. The store aims to redefine global shopping by bringing international products directly to transport hubs.
The company plans to expand the model nationwide, targeting 200 stores across major airports, railway stations, and commercial hubs within the next five years, with revenue projected to hit 13 billion yuan ($1.9 billion).
