A landmark exhibition exploring the history of the Wuyue Kingdom (907–978) opened at Zhejiang Museum's Zhijiang campus on July 28, bringing together nearly 1,000 rare artifacts from almost 100 museums and cultural institutions across China.

Titled Wuyue Kingdom and Inheritance of Chinese Civilization, the exhibition is the country's first large-scale showcase dedicated to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (907–978). It combines historical artifacts with an immersive experience inspired by the TV drama Swords into Plowshares, offering visitors both archaeological evidence and cinematic storytelling.

The first phase features more than 300 treasures, including a Yue celadon secret-color dish from the Famen Temple Museum, the original handwritten documents of Wuyue rulers Qian Liu and Qian Chu, and artifacts unearthed from Leifeng Pagoda. Also on display is a painted stone warrior from the tomb of warlord Wang Chuzhi, rarely exhibited outside storage of the National Museum of China.

Interactive highlights include a glasses-free 3D recreation of Qian Liu's legendary "shooting the tide" story and a VR tour of the Kangling Mausoleum.

The exhibition runs through June 20, 2027. The historical gallery will rotate in three phases, while the immersive film exhibition remains open throughout the event. Visitors can also explore a themed cultural market and newly launched Wuyue heritage routes linked to the exhibition.
