The Zhejiang Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra performed a special concert at the Berlin Konzerthaus in Germany on Aug 5 as part of the 27th European Youth Classical Music Festival.

The program blended Chinese and Western works, featuring contemporary Chinese compositions such as Festival Overture and Erhuang, alongside Bruckner's Symphony No 2. The first half highlighted Chinese contemporary music, while the second featured Western classical repertoire.

Conductor Zhang Yi said the concert used orchestral music as a universal language to showcase contemporary Chinese composition and the professional skills of young Chinese musicians, while promoting cultural exchange between young people from China and Europe.

The concert was sold out and received enthusiastic applause. German audience members said the Chinese works offered a fresh listening experience and sparked their interest in Chinese music and culture.
