A 10-meter-tall mechanical King Kong will take center stage when Kingdom of Kong arrives in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, this September.

Created by United Kingdom performance company Big Kid Circus, the live stunt spectacular will begin its 2026 China tour in the city, with four shows scheduled at Hangzhou Gymnasium from Sept 12 to 13.

The production brings together performers from the UK and parts of Europe, as well as Malaysia, Brazil, Egypt, and Mexico, with 23 acts combining high-altitude stunts, aerial silk, roller skating, contortion, dance, and interactive performances.

A mechanical King Kong is the show's centerpiece. Standing 10 meters tall, the animatronic figure can open its eyes, wave, turn its head, and lean toward the audience, creating an immersive jungle experience when combined with lighting, sound, and mist effects.

Unlike traditional circus shows that focus solely on thrills, this production centers on themes such as adventure, growth, and self-discovery, making it suitable for audiences of various ages.

The Hangzhou shows will offer afternoon performances for families as well as evening shows, with tickets starting at 180 yuan ($26.69) and family packages also available.

The team said they are looking forward to bringing the production to Hangzhou, where they hope audiences can experience a European-style immersive spectacular while exploring the city's scenery, culture, and cuisine.
