A high-level training program on digital development and transformation opened Monday in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, bringing together officials, international organizations, think tanks and businesses from across Africa. 

The program is the first high-level capacity-building activity held by the China-Africa Digital Technology Cooperation Center, established in Hangzhou under an initiative announced at the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Over 10 days in Hangzhou and Beijing, participants will study China's digital development experience through lectures, company visits and exchanges on policy, innovation and capacity building.

The schedule includes trips to technology firms, smart factories, innovation parks and exhibition centers, offering firsthand exposure to China's digital ecosystem.

Organizers said the program reflects growing cooperation between China and Africa in digital transformation, aiming to share practical models and strengthen partnerships in emerging technologies.
