The fourth Liangzhu Forum opened on Oct 18 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, bringing together about 800 Chinese and international guests, including archaeologists, heritage conservation experts, historians, and artists from multiple countries and international organizations.
Marking the 90th anniversary of the discovery of the Liangzhu Archaeological Site, this year's forum is themed "Bridging the Past and Future: Safeguarding Cultural Heritage for Our Times".
Outside the sub-forum on "Empowerment: Cultural Heritage Protection and Application of Technologies", participants stopped to explore an exhibition of China's intangible cultural heritage, gaining a close-up appreciation of traditional crafts, including kesi silk tapestry weaving, Qingshui silk floss making, embroidery, and rice-flour sculpture.
