Palace Jam House, Hangzhou, an upscale hotel inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics and private-residence living, opened on Oct 18 in downtown Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, introducing a hospitality model centered on exclusive access to an entire private retreat.

Developed and operated by London-based WGP Group, Palace Jam House combines accommodation, dining, art, wellness, and private guest spaces into an integrated residential experience. A dedicated space on the sixth floor includes landscaped gardens, views of West Lake and the city skyline, a reception hall, a library, and a bar. Personalized attendants coordinate itineraries, cultural activities, and tailored in-room services.

The hotel's design draws on traditional Chinese gardens and contemporary architecture. A highlight is the approximately 8,000-square-meter elevated garden, where water features, landscaped paths, and seasonal plants evoke Hangzhou's natural scenery. The hotel's JAM Gallery also opened an exhibition themed around Song Dynasty (960-1279) aesthetics, running from Oct 18 through Jan 3, 2027.

Through its combination of art, traditional craftsmanship, and personalized hospitality, Palace Jam House aims to offer guests an alternative to conventional luxury hotel stays.
