Xin’an River
The Xin’an River is one of the two upper courses of the Qiantang River system, flowing approximately 90 kilometers before entering the Fuchun River. The most unusual sight along the Xin’an is the wondrous mist that lingers over Baisha Town due to the river’s temperature, which stays at a steady 14 to 17 degrees Celsius. In the mornings and evenings, the surface of the river is cold, which creates a large temperature difference between the water and the air. This temperature difference causes the formation of white mist that distinguishes the landscape.
