A grand-scale musical performed in Hangzhou’s Song Dynasty Town theme park, The Legend of Romance in Song Town combines sound, light, electronics, and stage machinery to reproduce scenes from the Song Dynasty economy, culture, and lifestyle (10th-13th centuries). The program showcases silk, the local specialty tea, and the south-of-Yangtze landscape. The show is performed more than 2,000 times each year, with nine performances daily during peak season. Over its 19-year run, there have been more than 20,000 performances for an audience exceeding 60 million.
