Major bonsai artworks from Chinese female bonsai masters went on show at Hangzhou Botanical Garden, Zhejiang province, for a bonsai exhibition on Feb 18.

Running until Feb 24, the exhibition displays a total of 206 groups of elaborate bonsais of different sizes from 85 female artists. The bonsai, with unique shapes and delicate appearances, are attracting many visitors.

"This marks the first time to see so many bonsai works from female artists", said a local resident. 

Twenty female artists have been invited to demonstrate the bonsai technique on site at the exhibition.
