The 2022 Asian Para Games will be held from Oct 9 to 15 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) said on July 9.
A total of 22 competition sports have been confirmed so far, including track and field, swimming and goal ball.
The competition venue will be the same as that for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games but with improved barrier-free facilities to meet the needs of the Asian Paralympic Games.
HAGOC said they will cooperate closely with the Asian Paralympic Committee to stage a sports bonanza with all the grandeur, style, and flavor that China can muster up.
Organizers said that they elected to postpone the start of the Para Games after China's National Day holiday in order to reduce urban traffic pressure.
The 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou will be held from Sept 10 to 25.
