The 2019 Hangzhou Xianghu International Half Marathon opened its registration window for runners on Aug 14. It will be open until Aug 28.

Organized by the Chinese Athletics Association and Xiaoshan district, the marathon, which is slated to be held on Oct 20, will feature a half and a mini marathon.

Around 8,000 runners are expected to participate in the event. The half marathon is restricted to 5,000 runners, while the mini run will be capped at 3,000.

The total prize of the marathon is up to 20,000 yuan ($28,440). Participants can register for the race via the race's official website.

As a national-level tourism resort, Xianghu has hosted a number of international large-scale exhibitions and become a benchmark for Hangzhou's tourism industry.
