The 2019 Hangzhou Innovation Contest for International Students opened in Xiaoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province, on Aug 19.

Themed on "United Wisdom and Overseas Students Empowered Digital Hangzhou City", this year's competition attracted 50 entrepreneurship programs from home and abroad in the areas of healthcare, technology, big data and the internet.

After fierce competition, six top quality entrepreneurship projects advanced to the finals -- based on their project's overview, entrepreneurial team, technology and services, market conditions, business model and development planning.

Talks between industry leaders and entrepreneurs on how to boost the new economy were also held during the contest.

Launched in 2016, the competition aims to provide a platform for international students to showcase their talent and aspirations. To date, it has received over 20 entrepreneurship programs from home and abroad.
