Major and hot-button topics concerning intellectual property will be on the agenda when the 2020 World Congress of AIPPI is held in Hangzhou, capital of eastern Zhejiang province on Sept 26-29, local media reported.
The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, or AIPPI, was founded in 1897 and it is the world's leading international organization dedicated to the development and improvement of legal regimes for the protection of intellectual property.
Held every other year -- with widest participation by governments, companies, IP agencies and research institutions -- the world's most influential IP event is being held in China for the first time.
Home to a large number of world-leading hi-tech groups, the organizers said that Hangzhou is ushering a new era in scientific and technological development and in the innovation industry.
Official statistics revealed that from January to June, Hangzhou added 6,229 authorized invention patents. The city's portfolio of approved invention patents has now risen to 55,390, ranking it first among the nation's provincial capitals.
