Special ecology area approved in Hangzhou county

Chun’an county in Hangzhou has been given the green light by the Zhejiang Provincial Government to be a Chun’an Special Ecology Function Area, according to a local news release on Sept 29.
According to the document released by the provincial government, Chun’an county as a whole was designated as a special ecology area.
The document says that Chun’an county should focus on preserving the ecological environment and pursue a green-development approach.
The provincial government also urges the county to preserve the ecological environment of Qiandao Lake well.
On the same day, it was officially announced that the lake would be the other major water resource for Hangzhou residents besides Qiantang River, in the wake of a water channeling project which was completed.
The document notes that all the provincial departments need to work closely to provide necessary support for Chun’an, to boost the development of the Chun’an Special Ecology Function Area.
