The 2019 China-CEEC Music and Dance Festival was unveiled at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Oct 21.
The event, which will run more than 10 days, brought together a number of artists from China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), who will participate in 43 activities including workshops, concerts, and lectures.
The event came after the 3rd China-CEEC Cultural Cooperation Forum held in Hangzhou in September 2017, at which the Hangzhou Declaration on Cultural Cooperation between China and CEEC was made.
During the forum, the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, together with 15 CEEC counterparts, founded a consortium to facilitate exchanges.
The festival, hosted by the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, was meant to provide a platform for teachers and students from the music consortium to carry out exchanges.
Over the two years since the founding of the consortium, the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music has invited many art troupes, singers, and dancers from CEEC to perform in China.
The conservatory also sent delegations to Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania to seek inspiration and perform there.
