Hangzhou's Binjiang district recently held a matchmaking activity to attract outstanding projects from overseas.
More than 70 overseas students brought with them 68 entrepreneurial projects to seek cooperation with local government departments, enterprises and investors.
Among them were two projects brought by Yale alumni Wang Xu and Liu Yan.
Wang holds a Yale PhD degree. His project focuses on improving agriculture by utilizing the internet of things and block chain technologies.
Liu holds a master's degree from Yale. Her project aims to provide intelligent health management services by leveraging the internet of things and big data technologies.
"Yale is good at basic research and our country is good at application of technologies, so we want to introduce Yale's good projects to our country," said a leader of the Yale alumni delegation.
There were also many projects in digital economy, smart manufacturing and life sciences.
Chen Ying, a teacher from Monash University in Australia, brought a set of intelligent health management devices that monitor the movement of the elderly living alone or with disability.
Binjiang district has launched a series of measures to attract overseas skilled workers, and to date has welcomed around 8,600.
