Hangzhou should contribute to provincial development by making steady progress, said Hangzhou deputies when reviewing the government's report at the third session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress.

They said that Hangzhou should promote the digital economy and high-quality manufacturing as the two main engines of its economy, build itself into the top digital city in China, and empower the traditional manufacturing sector with digital technologies.

They also said that Hangzhou should increase its role in the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region, boost consumption and modernize social governance.

The third session of the congress opened Jan 12 and lasts until Jan 16.
