The 3rd China (Xiaoshan district) Spring Festival Cultural Festival and 14th Dongshan New Year Cake Festival began on Jan 13 in Heshang town, Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou.

The Spring Festival Cultural Festival has been held for the past two years and the Dongshan New Year Cake Festival has been held in Dongshan village, Heshang town for the past 13 years.

The two events never fail to attract large numbers of visitors looking to participate in a series of festive activities.

A market fair was held alongside the two events, giving shoppers a chance to experience various traditional Chinese cultural products and buy local food from rural areas in Hangzhou.

Visitors also got the chance to observe how the traditional Chinese New Year cake is made, before chowing down on it.
