Hakim, an international student at Zhejiang University of Technology, has volunteered to fight the novel coronavirus with locals in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
"I came to China in 2013 and have been living in the residential compound since 2018," said the Yemeni student. "I have great affection for the community and that's why I chose to stay."
Li Suwen, Party secretary of the community, said Hakim always checks in at 9 am for a full day of volunteering service. "The residential compound is home to many international students and Hakim is very enthusiastic in serving the community," Li said.
"Cheer up! China, I am here for you!" The Yemeni student posted so on social media.
