Hangzhou is pressing ahead with efforts to resume construction on stadiums being built for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, which has been severely disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.
According to statistics released by the organizing committee of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, as of March 4, construction on 34 of the 40 stadiums being built for the games has already resumed, and construction on 20 out of 21 city-level stadiums has resumed.
Since construction on the stadiums resumed, the organizing committee has sent delegations to construction sites to learn about difficulties they are facing preventing and controlling the virus while resuming construction and to offer them guidance and assistance.
Special teams have also been set up to deal with issues related to the supply of construction materials, as well as technological issues.
With the help of the Hangzhou reform and development commission and the Hangzhou economy and information bureau, a total of 105,000 face masks have been collected and sent to construction sites to ensure the safety of workers.
As planned, by March 2021, construction on all stadiums and facilities for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games will have been completed and delivered for trial use.
