Jiande, a county-level cityin Hangzhou is planning to hold a series of immersive live-action shows on a moon-shaped island in the Xin'an River.

The shows will take their inspiration from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) poem by Meng Haoran entitled Stay Overnight on the Jiande River.

They will combine history, literature and fantastic scenic views. Equipment testing and rehearsals are currently under way.

The shows will make their debut in mid-July.
