As of Dec 31, 2019, a total of 20 unicorn companies were based in Hangzhou, four more than in 2018. Hangzhou ranked 3rd in terms of the number of unicorns and 1st in terms of their average valuation. Hangzhou-based Ant Financial is still the world's largest unicorn with an estimated valuation of $150 billion.
