The swimming venue of the Hangzhou Olympic and International Expo Center is currently being constructed on the southern bank of Qiantang River and will be completed by year's end, local media reported on June 5.

The swimming venue's design features a strong steel shell structure. The inner space can seat over 6,000 audience members and will host the swimming, diving, and synchronized swimming events of the 2022 Asian Games.

Next to the swimming venue is a large basketball stadium, which is also expected to be completed by December.
