Zhejiang province recently announced a plan to reduce waste in all cities throughout the province and ensure that all cities, as well as half of all counties, produce as little solid waste as possible, recycle as much waste as possible, and dispose of waste in a safe manner by the end of 2023.

Zhejiang is the first province in China to launch such a plan in the name of the provincial government.

According to the provincial environmental protection department, the plan will involve specific forms of treatment for solid waste and focus on the production, collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal of waste.

Zhejiang has taken many measures in recent years to reduce and recycle solid waste.

Fengdeng Environmental Protection Co based in Shaoxing is using special technology to turn waste liquid into industrial raw materials such as pure hydrogen and liquid ammonia.
