The second China Industrial Internet Contest kicked off in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on July 28, local media reported.
Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Zhejiang provincial government, the contest has been designed to inject vitality into China's industrial internet industry and explore possible solutions for domestic enterprises.
Participants from across the country tested their skills in five categories: improving the production support capacity of industrial enterprises, optimizing their core business operation capability, ensuring the stability and security of supply chains, integrating and innovating industries, and applying technology in real-life scenarios.
Preliminary sessions will be hosted in the Yangtze River Delta region and cities such as Shenzhen, Chongqing and Qingdao. A bonus pool of 5 million yuan ($714,500) will be awarded for the first, second and third-prize winners as well as other individual award winners.
Li Min, deputy director of the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang, said the province has been focused on the innovative development of industrial internet and how it can better serve the digital economy.
Yuhang district, which has in recent years become home to a slew of renowned manufacturing enterprises, is the permanent host of the contest.
