An ophthalmologist from Hangzhou who adapted Jay Chou's music video Mojito with his daily work and eye protection measures recently went viral on the internet, local media reported.
The video, designed by Li Qiushi from the ophthalmology department of Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital, was made to mark the third Chinese Doctors' Day Aug 19, saluting those life-saving medics who have devoted themselves to the fight against diseases and viruses.
Li said the lyrics and rhythm of Mojito have brought him a sense of coolness on scorching summer days.
"I'd heard many cover versions of the song and that inspired me to make my own version," Li said.
But Li did more than think of the idea. He was also the lyricist, director, prop man and cameraman for the show, and invited his entire team – 13 doctors, two technicians, eight nurses and one postgraduate – to be the cast.
"My colleagues are talented and the video was much better than I expected," Li said.
His work also raised great interest among his patients and many gave him thumbs-up, inspiring Li to create another music video featuring his patients.
