The Zhejiang provincial government recently announced that it will place more emphasis on the modernization of its major industrial chains as it aims to revamp the foundation of its manufacturing industry.

The 10 major industries are digital security, integrated circuits, network communications, intelligent computing, bio-pharmaceuticals, refining-chemical integration and new materials, energy-saving and new energy vehicles, intelligent equipment, intelligent home appliances, and modern textiles.

According to the announcement, the 10 industrial chains are expected to generate an annual revenue of over 6 trillion yuan ($875.4 billion) by 2025, accounting for 68 percent of Zhejiang's total industrial output value. The industrial basis and industrial chains of Zhejiang manufacturing are also expected to match those that are leading the world.
