The Metamorphoses: 2025 CAA Graduation Season has opened, transforming Hangzhou into a citywide stage for creative expression, local media outlets reported.

Running through June 20, the event showcases over 3,000 graduation works by 2,971 students from the China Academy of Art (CAA) across seven major venues including CAA's campuses, key museums, and a citywide media exhibition zone.

According to President Yu Xuhong of CAA, "The 2025 Graduation Exhibition is a manifestation of CAA's disciplinary development and talent cultivation."

This year's theme — "Metamorphoses" — is a temporal framework rooted in the traditional Chinese notion of the seventy-two pentads, which explores transformation as both artistic method and philosophical inquiry.

From fashion shows in the rain to immersive installations, students across disciplines are offering up bold explorations of identity, tradition, and digital innovation.

The exhibition continues CAA's legacy of turning Hangzhou into an unwalled academy — a living platform of public art, creativity, and cultural dialogue.
