Digital consumption festival kicks off in Hangzhou

A citywide digital consumption festival opened in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Sept 24, one day before the opening of the annual Global Digital Trade Expo.

The launch event introduced 10 themed activities and featured a dedicated exhibition zone for quality digital trade products, offering residents and tourists a first-hand experience of Hangzhou's digital consumption scene.

During the week, Hangzhou held the Digital Trade Performance Week and Digital Trade Food Week, while also releasing special digital trade consumption vouchers through Alipay, a mobile payment platform. The vouchers allow for instant and convenient redemption via contactless payment and location sensing technology.

The Digital Trade Food Week gathered renowned Hangbang cuisine restaurants, Michelin-starred and Golden Osmanthus Award-winning restaurants, offering innovative services such as digital ordering and ticket-based discounts.

In the Digital Night Market activity, 10 major nighttime economic zones and hundreds of vendors jointly hosted night bazaars.

On-site displays also showcased digital fashion scenes, service consumption demonstrations, and new inbound consumption policies, highlighting Hangzhou's diverse digital consumption landscape.
