The international cargo center of Hangzhou International Airport has received the CEIV Pharma (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics) certification from the International Air Transport Association.

The certification is an international recognition of the terminal's professionalism and standardization in temperature-controlled pharmaceutical transport and handling, paving the way for the center to expand its high-end pharmaceutical and global cold chain logistics services.

The Hangzhou terminal has carried out upgrades across infrastructure, management, and staff training. The facility now features dedicated pharmaceutical cold storage, refined temperature zoning, and real-time, traceable monitoring and alarm systems to ensure full compliance and product integrity from warehouse to aircraft.

China's pharmaceutical cold chain market reached an output of 627.2 billion yuan ($87.8 billion) in 2024, accounting for 21.75 percent of the global market, with cross-border demand for high-end pharmaceutical logistics growing at 25 percent annually.

As one of the few domestic cargo terminals to pass all CEIV Pharma certification requirements, Hangzhou airport demonstrates strong expertise and leadership in the field. The company said it will use this achievement as a starting point to enhance temperature-controlled logistics solutions and strengthen cooperation with global pharma firms, air carriers, and e-commerce platforms, contributing to a safer, more efficient global pharmaceutical cold chain powered by China.
