Complete ancient Chinese paintings collection builds new bridges in Brazil, Chile

To promote deeper cultural dialogue between Chinese and Latin American civilizations, a series of events centered around A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings were held in Brazil and Chile from Oct 24 to 27.
Jointly organized by the Information Office and Foreign Affairs Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, Zhejiang University, and Zhejiang Radio and TV Group, together with the University of Sao Paulo and the University of Santiago, the events received support from the Chinese embassies and consulates in the two countries. Hundreds of representatives from cultural, academic, and media circles, as well as overseas Chinese communities, attended the activities.

Zhejiang University presented A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings to the University of Sao Paulo and the University of Santiago, while Zhejiang Radio & TV Group signed cooperation agreements with the Brazil-China Friendship Association and the Chile-China Cultural Association. Experts from the Zhejiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology introduced Liangzhu Civilization to local audiences, highlighting China's 5,000-year cultural legacy.
Interactive zones such as the Liangzhu Civilization Station and Paint the World Together brought the ancient culture closer to Latin American youth. Meanwhile, the Still Waters Run Deep – Song Paintings Special Exhibition opened at Chile's Museum of Visual Arts, and the Silk Bond – From China to Brazil exhibition concluded the 2025 Silk Road Week in Sao Paulo.
The events offered the chance to strengthen mutual understanding, deepen artistic and educational exchanges, and foster friendship across continents.
