The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is emerging as a global hub for complex and critical medical care, local media outlets reported.

With a history spanning 156 years, the hospital now combines its excellence and globalization strategies to offer cutting-edge treatments for patients worldwide.

From French paraplegics seeking to stand again, to breast cancer patients from India and Malaysia, international patients are traveling to Hangzhou for care. Advanced techniques — including transcatheter heart valve interventions, multi-organ transplants, minimally invasive tumor surgeries, and closed-loop spinal nerve interfaces — have gained global recognition, with expert teams demonstrating procedures in 16 countries and welcoming medical trainees from 45 nations.

The hospital's innovations, such as the DragonFly transcatheter mitral repair system and the "Hangzhou solution" for heart valve interventions, reflect its commitment to patient-centered, precise, and minimally invasive care. Breakthroughs in oncology, ophthalmology, and rare diseases further strengthen its international appeal.

The hospital also emphasizes seamless cross-border care: remote consultations, visa assistance, multilingual support, personalized case management, and post-discharge follow-up ensure patients receive world-class treatment with dignity and convenience.

As China's medical expertise reaches the global stage, the hospital is shaping a model of international medical service where patients from over 100 countries seek treatment, and global standards are set from Hangzhou.
