A global shell exhibition featuring rare specimens from around the world opened at the National Wetland Museum in Hangzhou on Nov 21.
Exhibitors from eight countries, including the Philippines, Russia, India and Argentina, brought thousands of shells for visitors to view, touch and learn about up close.
The four-day event includes eight themed science talks, with two sessions held each afternoon to explore the mysteries of shells in depth. Six QR-code auctions, with all items starting at just 1 yuan ($0.14), offer shell collectors a chance to uncover hidden gems.
Running through Nov 23, the exhibition transforms its 170-meter shell market into a lively carnival of display, education, fun and collecting.
