The Qiancun Wet Market in the Linping district of Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has become a hit among international tourists, particularly those from South Korea.

Li, a fruit vendor from Guizhou province in Southwest China, vividly recalled a morning two months ago when a group of South Korean tourists visited the market. "I was busy stocking fruit when I heard someone call 'oppa,' just like in the dramas," she said.

Led by the market manager, the group included about 10 people, who were intrigued by the market's offerings, Li said. Since starting her job in April, Li said that she has encountered three groups of South Korean tourists, and she hopes to learn Korean to better communicate with them.

On the second floor of the market, 50-year-old Zhang from East China's Anhui province, operates two vegetable stalls with her husband. She said that the market's upscale environment resembles a supermarket. "We often see South Korean tour groups who are amazed by the beautifully arranged produce," she said, adding they find the market's offerings novel and exciting.

Jin Chang, president of Hangzhou Heze Industrial Co, has 23 years of experience in the wet market and is known as the "market diplomat" for hosting numerous international visitors. "Every year, we welcome many international tour groups," Jin said, highlighting the market's role in showcasing authentic Chinese life and culture.
