The Qiantang Greater Bay Wetland Park in Hangzhou has recently welcomed a group of Oriental storks, delighting birdwatchers and photographers alike.
The species, known for its elegant white plumage, long legs and striking black flight feathers, is classified as endangered globally and listed as a national first-class protected species in China.
As the winter migration season begins, the storks have been seen resting and foraging along the shallow wetlands of the Qiantang River, joining other migratory birds passing through.
Their appearance highlights the improving ecological conditions of the Qiantang wetlands and adds a vivid touch of biodiversity to the early winter landscape.
