The 7th Zhejiang International Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo opened on Dec 11 in Hangzhou, bringing together 280 exhibitors and showcasing 695 cutting-edge technologies.

The opening ceremony saw the release of several key policies and achievements, including the Transport Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Agreement and the 2025 Catalogue for Promoting First-Edition Transport Equipment. The Zhejiang Low-Altitude Economy Industry Association was also launched.

Among the headline exhibits was the Tianmushan-1 hydrogen-powered drone, developed by Tianmushan Lab. It set a Guinness World Record for the longest flight by a hydrogen fuel-cell multirotor/drone, completing a nonstop 188.6-kilometer journey. Now in mass production, it is already deployed for highway inspection, island logistics, and emergency response.

Zhejiang Communications Group showcased several innovations, including China's first rotor-based cable inspection robot — dubbed the Bridge Spider-Man — capable of autonomous flight-and-climb operations for high-altitude cable assessment. Its Bridge-Tunnel Spatiotemporal Intelligent System 1.0 enables naked-eye immersion into digital-twin infrastructure and is now used in projects such as the Xinling Tunnel and Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge.

Other highlights included next-generation highway service-area concepts, Huawei's liquid-cooled supercharging pile capable of delivering 40 km per minute, and robotic systems for port inspection and container operations.

This year's expo features five themed halls, two special zones, and multiple signing events covering low-altitude aviation, smart mobility, green transport, and tourism integration.

From record-breaking unmanned aerial vehicles to digital-twin infrastructure and ultra-fast charging, the expo offers a glimpse into the rapidly approaching future of intelligent transportation.
