Humanoid robots are becoming easier to use as leading Chinese firms roll out App Store-style platforms that let users deploy complex actions with zero coding.

On Dec 13, Hangzhou-based tech company Unitree Robotics announced the launch of its first humanoid robot app store. Users can upload and share trained models — such as dance, martial arts, or labor movements — or download actions created by other developers and install them on robots with a single click. No modeling or programming is required, making advanced motion control as simple as installing a smartphone app.

The move follows a similar step by AgiBot, which in October unveiled Link Craft, a free global robot content creation platform with zero coding needed. Its goal is to turn humanoid robots into creative, shareable, and entertaining consumer products.

By modularizing motion libraries and enabling one-click deployment, these platforms dramatically lower the entry barrier for customized robot actions.

Industry observers say this shift from hardware competition to application ecosystems could accelerate adoption, create new commercial use cases, and position humanoid robots as the next generation of consumer-facing smart terminals.
