Zhejiang's top legislature convenes annual session
The fourth session of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress opened in Hangzhou on Jan 14.
The session reviewed the provincial government's major work in 2025 and achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
In 2025, Zhejiang's GDP is estimated to have grown by about 5.5 percent, general public budget revenue by 1.8 percent, and per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents by about 4.3 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively. All 10 categories of public service initiatives were completed as planned.
Over the past five years, Zhejiang has steadily improved the quality and efficiency of development, strengthened innovation momentum, advanced reform and opening-up, taken the lead in exploring common prosperity, and enhanced the effectiveness of social governance, meeting the main economic and social development goals of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
The session emphasized that 2026 marks the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30). Key priorities include boosting market confidence and stabilizing expectations, improving the overall effectiveness of the innovation system, strengthening a modern industrial system anchored by advanced manufacturing, promoting the transformation and upgrading of consumption, expanding effective investment and attracting quality projects, deepening reform and advancing high-level opening-up, promoting coordinated urban-rural and regional development, and enhancing public satisfaction, well-being, and security.
