Linping district in Hangzhou is fast emerging as a global hub for green energy manufacturing and standards-driven innovation, local media outlets reported.

At Golden Feather New Energy Technology Co in Linping, a newly launched 1.2-GWh solid-state battery production line is already running at full capacity. Using industry-leading technologies such as anode-free lithium batteries and integrated electrolyte membranes, the company has secured orders to last through June, with overseas orders extending into the third quarter.

Solid-state batteries, seen as a next-generation breakthrough in terms of both safety and efficiency, are fueling Linping's rise. The development zone now hosts over 100 new energy firms and more than 20 provincial- and national-level R&D platforms. In 2025, the output of the district's new energy equipment cluster exceeded 34.4 billion yuan ($4.95 billion), up 33.8 percent year-on-year.

Linping is shifting from product exports to technology and standards exports. Green energy enterprises in the district now account for one-fifth of Hangzhou's total output in the sector, with a target of building a 100-billion-yuan industrial ecosystem by 2030.

Innovation remains a priority for the district. Golden Feather has partnered with Peking University to establish a joint advanced battery laboratory, focusing on key materials and talent development. Meanwhile, Linping-based firms are expanding globally, delivering energy equipment to Indonesia and supporting Africa's largest biomass power plant in Cote d'Ivoire.

This January, Linping also signed a cooperation agreement with the Hangzhou Chengxi Sci-Tech Corridor to jointly build a China Green Port, aiming to create a replicable model for green, low-carbon development.
