Wuyue Cup Round 1 draws 100,000 fans as standings, scorers shape up

The opening round of the 2026 Zhejiang City Football League (Wuyue Cup), sponsored by CZBank, concluded with five action-packed matches across Jiaxing, Huzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua and Lishui, each hosting their home debut.

A total of 100,514 fans attended, averaging 20,103 per game and highlighting the strong support for grassroots football across the province.

Jiaxing recorded the highest turnout with 27,667 spectators, followed by Jinhua (25,684), Huzhou (21,635), Shaoxing (13,675) and Lishui (11,853), as each city brought its own energy to the opening round.

Jiaxing secured a 1-0 win over Quzhou with a decisive goal in the 87th minute, while Hangzhou's Wu Hao scored the tournament's first-ever goal in a 1-1 draw against Huzhou.

Shaoxing fought back to a 2-2 draw with Ningbo thanks to a stoppage-time equalizer.

Jinhua delivered the most dominant performance, beating Zhoushan 4-0 after building a 3-0 lead by halftime. In Lishui, Wenzhou claimed a 1-0 away victory with a late winner despite being reduced to ten men.

After the first round, Jinhua, Jiaxing and Wenzhou lead the standings with three points each. The scoring chart features 12 players, with Jinhua contributing four, Ningbo and Shaoxing two apiece, and Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Huzhou and Jiaxing each with one.
