Silent cafe builds brewing dream

On a quiet street in Macheng Road, under a canopy of plane trees, there's a small bakery called "Zhu Meng Baking". Run by a group of young people who are deaf or hard of hearing, this little shop bakes more than bread — it bakes a life of independence and hope. Every morning, they knead dough, prepare fillings, and greet the day through warm aromas instead of words.
But this is also a neighborhood space loved by locals: kids stop by after school, office workers grab a coffee and a slice of cake, and nearby residents come in to read, rest, and slow down for a while.
This is one of those places in Hangzhou that quietly makes the city feel softer.
