A glass fish tank beside West Lake has become one of Hangzhou's latest social media attractions, drawing visitors eager to capture a uniquely picturesque scene.
Located at the Huagang branch of Louwailou Tea House within Huagang Park, the tank offers an unusual perspective: swimming goldfish framed against West Lake, with the iconic Leifeng Pagoda visible in the background.
The tank contains more than 50 goldfish, many of them bright orange-red. On sunny mornings, sunlight filtering through the water creates a dreamlike effect, allowing photographers to capture fish, lake views and historic landmarks in a single shot.
Tourists have been flocking to the site, with some queuing for photos during peak hours. Many say the images resemble scenes from a fantasy film, blending traditional Chinese aesthetics with the natural beauty of West Lake.
According to staff, the fish tank was installed last year and has steadily gained popularity online. Visitors are welcome to take photos without making a purchase, provided they do not disturb diners.
