Since its launch in 2005, CICAF has attracted more than 23,600 exhibitors and organizations from over 80 countries and regions, drawing nearly 20 million visits. It remains China's largest, most influential animation event and the country's only national-level animation festival.
Over the past five years, Hangzhou's animation, gaming and e-sports industry has experienced rapid growth. Annual revenue has surged to over 131 billion yuan ($19.4 billion) in 2025. The city is home to industry leaders such as NetEase, Game Science and Electronic Soul.
